The sardine pâtés from “Conserveira do Sul” are mostly made with fresh fish caught off the Portuguese coast. Carefully selected at the time of purchase, intact fish are sought after, with bright eyes and skin, firm flesh to the touch and red gills. It is then transported, under appropriate conditions, to the factory located close to the fishing port of Olhão. At the entrance, the fish is packed in perforated plastic boxes, and then stored in a fresh storage chamber at a temperature of 0-2°C, thus ensuring quality and freshness.

The fish, after headless and gutted, is boiled in water. This is followed by grinding in a mill, at which point the other ingredients are added (tomato or tomato concentrate, olive oil or vegetable oil, aromatic herbs, thickeners, etc.). After homogenizing the paste, it is tested to adjust the seasoning and packed in the indicated containers and sterilized.

Orders are normally dispatched by courier (DPD) and can be sent to any location in mainland Portugal or practically all countries within the European Community (see list). Unfortunately, due to very strict customs restrictions, we are no longer able to ship orders to the UK. This situation may change in the future, depending on the evolution of extra-community agreements. If you prefer, you can choose a collection point for your order. If the delivery is made in Albufeira, we will deliver it by hand free of charge.

An important point to highlight is the need to have the complete address and, above all, leave a contact telephone number for the country where the order is being sent. For example, if the shipping address is in France, the contact must be a telephone with a French code, not Portuguese, because the courier will only call a number in the country if he needs more information about the delivery location.

We only use cardboard boxes specially designed for postal shipping. Products are packaged and protected in the best possible way, using only recycled or recyclable material. The filling of the box is made from shreds of colored paper, which gives it a cheerful and appealing appearance. We believe, however, that the important thing is the quality of the content and not sophisticated packaging, which is often discarded immediately and ends up being another environmental pollutant. At the end of the year, there is the option of choosing a box with Christmas effects, but it is still made of recyclable cardboard.
