Inspired by the pioneering vision of José Joaquim Soares de Barros, an 18th-century Portuguese naturalist, the VALFLÔR brand pays tribute to one of the first scholars to recognise the potential of seaweed as human food. Back in 1700, Soares de Barros observed the marine flora of the Portuguese coast and noted, with surprising modernity, that certain seaweeds — such as ‘sea lettuce’ — could serve as sustenance and appeal to the palate.

We have already prepared several baskets for this type of event in the past. Orders are normally dispatched by courier (DPD) and can be sent to any location in mainland Portugal or practically all countries within the European Community (see list). Unfortunately, due to very strict customs restrictions, we are no longer able to ship orders to the UK. This situation may change in the future, depending on the evolution of extra-community agreements. If you prefer, you can choose a collection point for your order. If the delivery is made in Albufeira, we will deliver it by hand free of charge.

An important point to highlight is the need to have the complete address and, above all, leave a contact telephone number for the country where the order is being sent. For example, if the shipping address is in France, the contact must be a telephone with a French code, not Portuguese, because the courier will only call a number in the country if he needs more information about the delivery location.

We only use cardboard boxes specially designed for postal shipping. Products are packaged and protected in the best possible way, using only recycled or recyclable material. The filling of the box is made from shreds of colored paper, which gives it a cheerful and appealing appearance. We believe, however, that the important thing is the quality of the content and not sophisticated packaging, which is often discarded immediately and ends up being another environmental pollutant. At the end of the year, there is the option of choosing a box with Christmas effects, but it is still made of recyclable cardboard.
