The figs of the regional variety called Cotio, are dried in the sun or roasted in wood ovens, and can also be flavored. The almonds are blanched, peeled and coarsely ground to add cinnamon, fennel, anise and sugar, key ingredients to bring the natural fruits even more flavor. The figs are prepared by pulling their feet up and cutting them lengthwise and it is through this that the figs are stuffed with the delicious almond mixture, disguising the opening. Finally roasted in the oven, they are ready. Irresistible.

Dried figs have a long shelf life and therefore soon became a favored food during the winter, when harvests are poorer. In order to surprise the eye and the palate, these two products began to be worked in the most diverse ways, including stuffed with other ingredients. By oral tradition, it is known that seafarers took the Figos Cheios as an energy source, when they set out for distant or coastal fishing.

We have already prepared several baskets for this type of event in the past. Orders are normally dispatched by courier (DPD) and can be sent to any location in mainland Portugal or practically all countries within the European Community (see list). Unfortunately, due to very strict customs restrictions, we are no longer able to ship orders to the UK. This situation may change in the future, depending on the evolution of extra-community agreements. If you prefer, you can choose a collection point for your order. If the delivery is made in Albufeira, we will deliver it by hand free of charge.

An important point to highlight is the need to have the complete address and, above all, leave a contact telephone number for the country where the order is being sent. For example, if the shipping address is in France, the contact must be a telephone with a French code, not Portuguese, because the courier will only call a number in the country if he needs more information about the delivery location.

We only use cardboard boxes specially designed for postal shipping. Products are packaged and protected in the best possible way, using only recycled or recyclable material. The filling of the box is made from shreds of colored paper, which gives it a cheerful and appealing appearance. We believe, however, that the important thing is the quality of the content and not sophisticated packaging, which is often discarded immediately and ends up being another environmental pollutant. At the end of the year, there is the option of choosing a box with Christmas effects, but it is still made of recyclable cardboard.
