This one in particular, with a soft aroma of rock rose flower, is a highly moisturizing, smoothing and pleasantly creamy soap. Rockrose for its antioxidant and immune system stimulating properties is well known for its ability to delay the effects of aging on the skin, making this a soap especially suitable for mature skin.

Rockrose (Cistus ladanifer L.) is a characteristic plant of Mediterranean landscapes, which is abundant in the Algarve mountains, forming dense undergrowth. It is drought resistant and therefore appreciates sunny areas. The leaves are long and narrow, and when they are young, they are impregnated with a sticky, shiny-looking substance that sticks to hands and clothes. It has an intense and persistent scent. Rockrose flowers are very honey-like and are very attractive to butterflies, bees and many other insects that pollinate them.

In addition to its ornamental qualities, it also has other applications, namely in terms of medicine.

Its essential oils are recognized for their astringent, hemostatic, antiviral, anti-hemorrhagic, healing, toning, purifying and repairing properties, as well as stimulating the immune system’s defenses, which are used in aromatherapy to combat stress. The aromatic resin released by the leaves is known as labdanum and is used to fix certain scents in perfumes and to flavor soaps.
